Interleukin-13 receptor subunit alpha-1 (IL-13RA1) is a subunit of the Interleukin 13 receptor. The IL-13RA1 subunit forms a receptor complex with IL-4 receptor alpha, which is a subunit shared by IL-13 and IL-4 receptors. IL-13RA1 binds tyrosine kinase TYK2, and thus may mediate the signaling processes which leads to the activation of JAK1, STAT3 and STAT6 induced by IL-13 and IL-4. IL-13RA1 is vital for allergen-induced airway hyperactivity and mucus hypersecretion. Human recombinant IL-13RA1 produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain of 328 amino acids (22-343 a.a), having a molecular mass of 37.7 kDa (migrates at 40-57 kDa on SDS–PAGE under reducing conditions). IL-13RA1 is fused to a 6 amino acid His-tag at the Cterminus and has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Formulation: Sterile-filtered colorless protein solution (0.5 mg/ml) containing phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.4).
